The African Queen, the classic 1952 (the movie briefly played in December of 1951, no doubt to qualify for the 1952 Academy Awards, but most sources list it as a 1952 movie) John Huston (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award) English/U.S. romantic World War I (WWI) military adventure thriller ("Actually filmed in the splendor and dangers of the Belgian Congo!"; "The mightiest adventure ever filmed!"; "Based on the novel "The African Queen" by C.S. Forester") starring Humphrey Bogart (in his Best Actor Academy Award winning role), Katharine Hepburn (in her nominated for Best Actress Academy Award role), Robert Morley, Peter Bull, Theodore Bikel, Walter Gotell, Peter Swanwick, and Richard Marner. Note that all of the original release U.S. movie paper for this title has a 1951 copyright date, and a 1952 NSS number.
