Sola Sound MK 1.5 Tone-Bender
At long last - a Germanium Tonebender replica that will work with modern power supplies and pedalboards!
This Sola Sound Tone-Bender replica pairs the original positive-ground circuit with our in-house inverter design, so you can get the holy grail of Germanium fuzztone in the same chain as your normal negative-ground pedals...without killing your signal. Awesome! Using the pedal is as simple as it gets - one knob on the left for
Volume
, one on the right for
Fuzz
, and the usual footswitch in the middle to turn it off/on. Intensity of the fuzz can also be adjusted with the volume knob on your guitar (which I'd recommend). There's plenty of volume on tap to drive tube amps and generally boost your signal up.
The PNP Germaniums used in this pedal have been hand-matched from piles of different NOS transistors - and these have been a bit tougher than the average pedal to match! Bias is manually set on a per-pedal basis. The circuit is housed in a 125B-sized enclosure and powered by a standard Boss-type 9vDC center-negative jack and power supply (the normal one for pretty much everything)...there is currently no strap for a 9v battery, but I would be happy to add one for a couple $ extra. Customization requests (for certain knobs, LED's, etc.) can often be accommodated...just one note on that: if you're looking for some customizations, please request via message
