Vintage Jordan Bosstone re-issue
This is our improved version of the vintage Bosstone we call the Buzztone.
We have two new colors White and Red. The auction is for 1 unit. The photos show all three colors for reference only
All of the component values are exactly what you would find in a vintage Bosstone. We have upgraded key components to provide the best tone and low noise operation. Our version sports these key upgrades:
The base plate is now stainless steel, the originals were plain steel and most are rusted.
1/2 watt carbon comp resistors
Ceramic disc capacitors
Correct transistors that replace in Motorola in house numbers MSPS3363 MSPS3364
High Quality wire and jacks
Improved Switch and Pots
We now have the exact transistors that Jordan used in the best version of the Bosstone. This key feature was the last step in insuring our pedal sounded identical to the vintage Jordan's units.We have been building our version of the Bosstone for four years now. Over the last four years we have perfected the Buzztone. It is a very special distortion circuit and one of Americas first Fuzz units. To me it was so important to breath life into this little gem and keep it alive.
I had the pleasure to meet the owner of Jordan. George was a very talented designer and he is responsible for the Polytone amp designs and the Fender Rhoads amps. His Jordan solid State amps are amazing and he was a true pioneer in the 1960's 70's guitar market.
With Georges help, I have determined that there were five versions of the Bosstone. I can build four of the different versions and will be posting a history of the Bosstone soon. Here is a little sample of what Jordan offered:
