Check out this monster:
- We started with the internal mods and did our popular
Gilmour Mod
. Several component changes were made to convert this pedal to the
Violet Ram’s Head
Muff as used by David Gilmour in songs from “The Wall.”
- Then we drilled and installed a
mid-tone control
which gives you more control when you are dialing up the sound.
- We added an
LED clipping mod.
This gives you the option of switching one of the silicon clipping diodes over to LED clipping. This results in slightly less distortion, and gives the pedal a very healthy
gain boost
(great for lead solos).
Other folks use a toggle switch for this mod, which means you have to stop playing, bend down, and flip the toggle switch by hand. We installed a separate
stomp switch
so you can avoid all of that (same as the mod we do on our TS-9 Epiphany).
- We added a separate check
LED
so you will always know when the boost is on or off. This one is a clear/off to bright red /on LED.
- We took out the outdated 1/8 inch pin type power jack, and installed a
standard 9 volt power jack.
Now you can power your pedal with the same adapter that you use for today’s Boss pedals, Ibanez pedals, etc.
- We finished it off by replacing the original dull red
LED
with a new clear/off to bright blue/on LED.

Also if true bypass is important to you, well
this one has true bypass.
No tone sucking here!
