The Jackson Audio FUZZ is a great-sounding fuzz box, delivering the full gamut of gritty textures from vintage-style fuzz to snarling, spitting cacophony. That said, there’s an infinite universe of fuzz tones out there, and the FUZZ’s stock sound merely scratches the surface. That’s where the Goat Head comes in. This analog plug-in enables you to swap out the FUZZ’s standard Modern Fuzz module to expand the stompbox’s capabilities. The Goat Head is one of the most Gilmour-ish effects out there — it’s essentially Pink Floyd in a box. If you want to infuse your leads with “Comfortably Numb” levels of sustain, the Goat Head will do it. Plus, the tweakability afforded by the FUZZ’s 3-band, fully parametric EQ elevates this muff-style module above mere vintage-style mimicry. While the FUZZ’s analog plug-ins are user swappable, installation requires that you disassemble the pedal, remove a pre-installed 18-pin module, and replace it with the new module. If you’re uncomfortable with installing electronic components (such as your computer’s RAM), we advise you to let Sweetwater handle it. Call your Sales Engineer for more information.
