The FOWL Sounds Obsidian Fuzzstortion lands somewhere between a Proco Rat and a Big Muff, but with much stronger and usable low end and more of basically everything you want from those pedals. Glorious for guitar, baritone guitar, and bass. FOWL Sounds is a great boutique company building really outside-the-box quality pedals in the spirit of heavy music. They produce short runs of their handmade pedals and the Obsidian is currently out of stock. Serial number #066.

"Using a JFET, the first gain stage emulates a preamp tube giving off some asymmetry and tons of 2nd order harmonics. The 2nd gain stage is a charge pump driven op amp similar to classic soft and hard clipping pedals with plenty of gain on tap. The third gain stage models a classic fuzz with silicon clipping."
This pedal is VERY responsive, so it takes a bit of learning/getting used to but it really is a beautiful fuzz and will make hot thunder out of any electric instrument you run into it. It is also built like a tank and I really love the blank face and matte finish.
